As much fun as it has been to see Brandon Weeden play semi-good football for the first time in his career, Texans starting quarterback Brian Hoyer has now officially cleared concussion protocol and will return to the field this Sunday.

Hoyer will enter Week 17 with an opportunity to clinch Houston’s third division title in five seasons and the first of the Bill O’Brien era. Considering where both Hoyer and this franchise were just a few short years ago – one being a down-and-out Browns quarterback and the other being a football team that lost 14 straight games to close the 2013 season – I’d consider this one hell of a quick turnaround for all parties.
