It's a very special edition of DFS picks. I've honestly been under the weather, so these may or may not be the picks of a man drugged out of his mind.
Brett has another week off so he can continue to being awesome. Here are this week's picks:
QB: Jay Cutler, CHI, $7,000
Jay Cutler is pretty cheap this week for having such a nice matchup against the 49ers. Football Outsiders ranks the 49ers' defense 31st against the pass this season, and Cutler has thrown for at least 250 yards and a touchdown in three of his last five games.
RB: Devonta Freeman, ATL, $9,000
My roster is a bit on the low side minus Freeman. He was limited in practice earlier in the week but practiced fully on Thursday and Friday. Freeman has been a top fantasy weapon when healthy.
RB: C.J. Anderson, DEN, $6,800
Anderson blew up last week for 100-plus yards and two touchdowns against the Patriots. The Broncos' offense has started to look like the Texans under Gary Kubiak with Peyton Manning out. If that is the case, the Broncos running backs are sure bets.
WR: Amari Cooper, OAK, $7,000
Cooper has shown he belongs as one of the top wide receivers in the league already in his young NFL career. Cooper faces a Kansas City defense that ranks 30th against No. 1 wide receivers and has allowed an average of 100 yards to No.1s this season, per Football Outsiders.
WR: Danny Amendola, NE, $6,700
Danny Amendola may be the only wide receiver that Tom Brady has to throw to this week against the Eagles, who are simply awful against the pass. Most of New England's receiving corps, including Rob Gronkowski ,is hurt, so look for Brady to head Amendola's way early and often.
WR: Martavis Bryant, PIT, $6,900
Bryant has had 23 targets since the return of Big Ben. I'm willing to roll the dice with Bryant each week at that rate.
TE: Greg Olsen, CAR, $6,600
Olsen is the Panthers' passing game, and I've gone light on the price tag at the other skill positions. The Panthers face the Saints, who rank 32nd against tight ends according to Football Outsiders
K: Robbie Gould, CHI, $4,600
The same logic with Cutler applies here. I suspect the Bears will have a good offensive day. Thus, a good day for Gould.
DEF: Denver Broncos, $5,300
The Broncos have had a ridiculously strong season under Wade Phillips -- no surprise. They face Philip Rivers, who has been sacked 26 times this season behind a bad offensive line. I'll take my chances.
