2015 NFL Mock Draft: Charles Davis Has The Houston Texans Going Secondary At No. 16

Charles Davis of NFL.com says the Houston Texans will beef up their defensive backfield with their first round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. See who he believes it'll be and whether it makes sense for the Texans.

Hitter? Sure. Coverage? Dubious.

NFL.com's Charles Davis has his latest mock draft up for public consumption, and he's got your Houston Texans coming away with a defensive back in the first round. Not a cornerback. A safety.

16. Houston Texans: Landon Collins (SS--Alabama)

The chase of Indianapolis continues. This former Crimson Tide defender has range, and pop when it’s contact time.

If the Texans actually selected Landon Collins with the 16th pick of the 2015 NFL Draft on the evening of April 30th, my reaction would not be gleeful. While I don't doubt his ability to "pop," I have trouble believing Collins will be able to consistently cover in the NFL. If that's the case, Collins is a box safety, which the Texans already appear to have in Bernard Pollard D.J. Swearinger (to the extent Jungle Boi Swagg wraps up). Taking Collins at No. 16 would be a poor use of resources in my eyes.

I await your thoughts in the Comments.
