Jadeveon Clowney Injury Update: Clowney Speaks To Media For First Time Since Microfracture Surgery

Ever since he had microfracture surgery back on December 9th, Jadeveon Clowney hasn't publicly said a word. The closest we've gotten to any sort of news or update about how he's doing has been a few words from Rick Smith and some cautious optimism from Bill O'Brien. Clowney has remained silent.

Until today, when Jadeveon Clowney made an appearance at the Puma store in the Galleria. Mark Berman has the story, and here's a bit of what the first overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft had to say, as well as a bit of an assessment of how he looked:

Clowney was smiling and having a good time during his appearance.

He was not ready to discuss just yet when he will be playing again.

"I feel like I'm moving forward in my rehab," Clowney said. "Very encouraged. Everything is looking good for me and I'm feeling better.

"Everything is starting to come together just like I was hoping."

Clowney agreed with Rockets center Dwight Howard that the rehabilitation process is much tougher than practicing and playing.

"You got to be in there earlier than everybody and you got to leave later," Clowney said. "That's a lot tougher than playing."

The best thing Clowney had to say?

"When they told me I could walk, I took off," Clowney said.

I remain pessimistic that we'll see Clowney make an impact in 2015, but reading reports like this gives me hope that we could see significant production from him in a Texans uniform in 2016. How about you?
