2015 NFL Mock Draft: With The Tenth Pick, The St. Louis Rams Select...

As this year's edition of the Battle Red Block Mock Draft rolls on, the Rams had a number of appealing options when they went on the clock. Which player did they choose? Was it a sound decision?

So many questions.
So many questions.
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Representing the St. Louis Rams, El Torito (for those of you who don't speak Spanish, that means "The Torito" in English) has declared which lucky young player has been chosen to follow in the vaunted footsteps of Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce, and Az-Zahir Hakim.

With the 10th pick in the 2015 BRB Mock Draft, the St. Louis Rams select...Brandon Scherff (OL - Iowa).

This seems like a no-brainier pick given the situation with the offensive line. With Jake Long released, Joe Barksdale unsigned, Barrett Jones as the presumed center and Roger Saffold and Greg Robinson holdin' it down on the left side, Scherff can be an instant plug-in player for a Rams OL that desperately needs help in the run and pass game after ranking 20th and 23rd, respectively.

At Iowa, Scherff was an outstanding player and leader, resulting in him receiving the Outland Trophy (most outstanding interior lineman), being named permanent team captain and voted first-team All Big Ten. His measurables allow him to be able to play inside at right guard, where his power and explosiveness fit Jeff Fisher's power run scheme. With Nick Foles (most likely) the starter heading into the season, the Rams must make adjustments to the line to protect a quarterback coming off a season-ending broken collarbone (courtesy of our very own Whitney Mercilus).

I'll be honest and admit it was extremely tempting to take one of the remaining top receiving prospects ( *cough* Kevin White *cough*) since I feel the Rams need a legit number one receiving option to go along Kenny Britt and a recovering Brian Quick. But passing on one of the best lineman at a position of need would've been inexcusable. On the other hand...the West Virginia WR connection with Bailey, Austin and White would've been pretty cool.

Nonetheless, I feel Brandon Scherff can elevate the run and pass game, allowing Tre Mason, Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham to have successful rushing seasons and keeping Nick Foles clean in the pocket. Hopefully this will finally elevate A very underrated Rams team in a very tough NFC West division.

SWERVE!

A bold pick, no? With both Kevin White and DeVante Parker on the board, and a current receiving corps that is questionable on its best day, taking Scherff here is sure to raise an eyebrow or two. What would you have done if you were in charge of the Rams and the first nine picks went the way they have in our mock draft?

Speaking of that mock draft, here's the score card so you can keep track at home.
