2015 NFL Mock Draft: With The Fifteenth Pick, The San Francisco 49ers Select...

It had to happen some time. Frankly, I'm somewhat surprised it didn't happen earlier. The 2015 Battle Red Blog Mock Draft has had its first deserter, as fredy05 failed to get his pick in on time or to respond to inquiries about when, pray tell, he would be submitting said pick.

Fortunately, we have an ace in the hole in the form of nationally renowned NFL analyst and BRB Masthead alumnus Rivers McCown. The least heralded of the McCown Brothers stepped up to the plate in our time of need and delivered the following selection and logic on behalf of the Niners.

With the 15th pick of the 2015 BRB Mock Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select Kevin White (WR--West Virginia).

Torrey Smith is a fine receiver, if now overpaid, but after letting go of Michael Crabtree and Steve Johnson, San Francisco's wideout corps could use a game-changer as the front office attempts to transition more of the weight of the offense onto the shoulders of Colin Kaepernick. Bruce Ellington and Quinton Patton didn't exactly force their way onto the field last year.

Which is why they're thrilled to wake up and find the best wideout in the draft (in my estimation), Kevin White, here this late in the first round. Despite some degree of uncertainty about the defensive line, at inside linebacker, and at cornerback, White is simply too good to pass up at this point.

Unless you simply don't believe in Kevin White as a legitimate NFL wideout, I reckon you have to consider this pick a veritable no-brainer for the 49ers. Even if it means your dreams of the Houston Texans somehow getting their mitts on White at No. 16 are now dashed. Speaking of, your Houston Texans, via the masthead of this here website, are now on the clock.
