2015 NFL Draft First Round: April 30, 2015

OMG, peoples!!!!! It's Draft Night!!!! Tonight we get to see our first new shiny draft pick brought to us from the land of Al Capone, the World's Columbian Exposition, and Enrico Fermi, among others.

Ryan Dunsmore

Chicago, AKA "the Windy City," the "Second City" or "CHI-raq," is playing host to the NFL Draft this year since Radio City Music Hall has strangely decided to host other events instead of one of the NFL's many annual celebrations of itself. Quite a few big names have decided to spend this evening in the bosom of their families in Alabama and Hawaii, while recent developments in Louisiana have led to another prospective first round pick to handle more pressing matters. While some may think that Chicago lacks the luster of the Big Apple (and the raving Jests fans, who will roundly boo every individual with a pulse during drafts) it's still a night that can and will change the lives of 32 young men and fortunes of 32 franchises.

As of right now, our beloved Texans are sitting at the 16th spot. Of course, Rick Smith is in the process of disbursing misinformation and disinformation, and who really knows where we'll end up drafting (or even if we'll end up drafting)?  Regardless, we're here in the hopes that our selection won't occur during a commercial break (thanks, BSPN) so we can truly savor this moment. This open thread, however, is for the entire first round, so we'll be discussing all 32 picks.

With that in mind, there are a few ground rules that will be laid down. In addition to the usual ground rules that we're all well-versed in, I'm going to request that you refrain from posting GIFs or embedded Tweets in the comments. They slow down the load time.

ANNUAL REMINDER: Please do not post or comment on any of the selections before Roger Goodell announces them on the television broadcast. I know that news about who's been picked will be broken before an official announcement is made (especially on Twitter). Please do not spoil it for those of us who want to find out the old fashioned way. If you fail to honor this request, YOU WILL BE BANNED FOR THE NIGHT.

If you're confused about where and how to find NFL Draft info, Tim has been sort of friendly and posted a spiffy, splendiferous article. For info about your friendly BRB mods' plans for the draft, we have this handy-dandy article, too.

Game on.
