2015 NFL Mock Draft: With The Fourth Pick, The Oakland Raiders Select...

The usual suspects at the top of the draft are almost done. Battle Red Blog's Reader Mock draft continues with the Oakland Raiders.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The attention of the 2015 BRB Mock Draft moves to Oakland, where H_Town5 turns in the Raiders' card for the fourth overall pick.

With the 4th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Raiders select Amari Cooper (WR--Alabama).

I thought about going pass rusher here, or best offensive lineman here, but what is the fun in selecting an offensive lineman in a mock draft?

Derek Carr is a promising looking quarterback, but doesn't have any weapons in his receiving arsenal besides James Jones. Since wide receiver is obviously a huge need for the Raiders, we now have to look on the board for the best wide receiver available. Kevin White out of West Virginia looks great on paper, but the West Virginia college prospects of the past scare me (Tavon Austin, Geno Smith, etc.). That leaves us with one choice: Amari Cooper. He is a great wide receiver out of Alabama that I believe can turn into the #1 that Oakland needs. Cooperis coming off of a Biletnikoff Award campaign where he had 124 catches for 1,727 yards and 16 touchdowns.

His draft profile gives us the facts that he is a 6 foot 1 inch receiver with a 34 inch vertical. Cooper also runs a 4.42 40 yard dash and has 10 inch hands. He is known to be a very good route runner that is very good at breaking away from corners with his route running despite his lack of speed. He isn't going to burn past people, but he is a very solid #1. If he can continue to be a good intermediate possession receiver, he will have a very successful career in the NFL.

Looking to the future, I see Marvin Harrison in Amari. They are both not super fast receivers that were great possession guys. I also see fellow Biletnikoff Award winner Larry Fitzgerald in Amari, but only time will tell if he is able to reach his potential. Comparing him to a more recent player, we feel like Amari could also be like Alabama alum Julio Jones. We feel like that if Amari turns out to be as good as the player that he projects to be and can be, Amari Cooper will be a great wide receiver for years to come. We feel like as an organization that we have hit a Home Run in drafting Amari Cooper.

I refuse to believe that Derek Carr will amount to anything other than a huge bust -- just out of sheer principle. I also refuse to believe that this man and his ridiculous haircut will ever lead the Oakland Raiders back to glory. Yes, I'm vain like that. Yes, I'm comfortable with that.

Regardless, Carr's development, despite the bloodline, should be bolstered with Cooper, thus helping the Raiders win some more games, despite their owner's atrocious hair cut.

For more on Cooper, read up on what Stephen White said about the talented receiver here.

"This guy is so polished I swear I would name him starter from day one without thinking twice. I would even go further and say, based on his film, I would be willing to bet you an ice cold Coca Cola that, barring injury, Cooper will play at least eight relatively productive years in the NFL."
