Organized team activities (OTAs) begin next Tuesday, May 26 for the Houston Texans. The team will look a LOT different this year after quite a few marquee changes to the roster during the latest off-season.
Here is a recap summary of important dates:
New to this year's roster as free agent signings: (DT/NT) Vince Wilfork, (S) Rahim Moore, (QB) Brian Hoyer, (WR) Cecil Shorts III, (WR) Nate Washington, (S) Stevie Brown, and (RB) Chris Polk.
The 2015 rookie class includes quite a haul from the 2015 NFL Draft and undrafted rookie free agent signings of: (CB) Kevin Johnson, (LB) Benardrick McKinney, (WR) Jaelen Strong, (WR) Keith Mumphery, (LB) Reshard Cliett, (DT) Christian Covington, (RB) Kenny Hilliard, (S) Kurtis Drummond, (P) Will Johnson, (T) Kendall Lamm, (TE) Khari Lee, (C) Greg Mancz, (TE) Mike McFarland, (DL) Cam McLeod, (DL) Dan Pettinato, (OL) Chad Slade, (DE) Carlos Thompson, (DE) Lynden Trail, (LB) Tony Washington, and (WR) Chandler Worthy.
Already missing from the list of incoming rookies is defensive end James Rouse, who suffered a torn Achilles during rookie camp.
There will be an ever-important quarterback battle taking place between Ryan Mallett and Brian Hoyer. There will also be a war in the trenches to replace Chris Myers at center, and the wide receivers will all be clawing for reps and rankings.
What will you be more focused on during OTAs and the upcoming training camp? Who are you most interested to see develop and earn a starting role for this season?
