J.J. Watt Voted Number One Player On Annual NFL Top 100 Players List

According to a list voted on by NFL players themselves, J.J. Watt has no equal on the field. Thank the heavens that he's on our team, folks.

J.J. Watt may not have won the national media over enough to be voted NFL MVP over the incomparable Aaron Rodgers, but when it comes to earning respect on the field among other players, Watt stands alone on the mountain top.

After five seasons of lists, countdowns, and debates, The JuggerWatt has become the first defensive player to be voted to the number one spot on NFL Network’s annual "Top 100 Players" series. Moreover, this is the first time that a player who did not make the playoffs has been voted number one, as well as the first time when the number one player was not also the NFL MVP Award winner from the previous season. Watt is only the second non-quarterback to be voted number one, joining Adrian Peterson from the 2013 list.

Running back Arian Foster was the only other Texan to make the list this year, with other Pro Bowl caliber Houstonians like Duane Brown and (at the time) Andre Johnson being curiously left off the list. Here is Foster’s entry into the Top 100 at number 80 to hold you over until Watt’s triumphant tribute is made public on the official NFL YouTube channel.

We here at BRB would like to congratulate J.J. on yet another achievement being added to his legend. Here’s hoping that he can tack on one more accomplishment to the list in 2015 – Super Bowl champion.

Update: Here is Watt's gigantic seven minute profile segment from tonight's program.
