Chris Myers Announces Retirement From NFL

After ten years in the NFL, most of them playing center very well for the Houston Texans, Chris Myers called it a career this morning. See what he had to say and how much Texans fans appreciated him on Battle Red Blog.

Thank you, Chris.
Thank you, Chris.

After Chris Myers began working for Sports Radio 610 a couple of weeks ago, some observers thought that, despite interest from other NFL teams after the Texans released him back in March, Myers had decided to hang up his cleats. Turns out that deduction was correct. The longtime starting center for the Houston Texans made it official this morning, formally announcing his retirement from the NFL on Sports Radio 610.  From that last linked article:

"When you know, you know" said Myers, adding that he received several offers to play for other teams this offseason, but just didn’t have the desire to play anymore.

Myers then tweeted his thanks to his family, friends, and the fans:

Although many of us expressed our appreciation for Myers when his release was announced and even hoped the Texans might bring him back, I invite you to honor a very good player and a great career in the Comments below.
