Although Bill O'Brien has gone on record and said the starters' playing time will not be increased today, thus taking a bit of the wind out of the sails of fans who were looking forward to seeing the Texans' starters play significant snaps this afternoon, there are still multiple things to keep an eye on in today's tilt between the Houston Texans and New Orleans Saints. Such as:
1. Now that Brian Hoyer has been named Houston's starting quarterback, will we see any change in his game or the offensive scheme?
2. Will Ryan Mallett get out of Bill O'Brien's doghouse long enough to play appreciable snaps this afternoon? Will Mallett get under center in relief of Hoyer before Tom Savage does?
3. How vanilla will the playcalling on both sides be, especially in light of their regular season matchup in November?
4. The first round of roster cuts is coming on Tuesday. Who needs to come up big to make it through?
If you have any other things you'll be focused on, let them fly below. This is your first open thread for the Texans' third preseason game of 2015. Share your observations, thoughts, and musings about all things Houston, Texans, and/o Saints in real time via the Comments.
NOTE: Please do not post any images, videos, GIFs, or non-text comments in any of BRB's live game threads. They tend to slow the thread down and can take a long time to load. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
