After trading for offensive line depth earlier this morning, your Houston Texans have begun cutting players in advance of tomorrow's deadline to trim the roster to 75. I suppose this process actually started on Friday night when the team parted ways with Stevie Brown (who quickly re-signed with the New York Giants), but it's picking up steam now. Aaron Wilson reports that the Texans have severed ties with two more players.

Seeing Ankrah cut here is a bit of a surprise. While I didn't necessarily think he'd make the 53-man roster, I did not expect to see him as one of the first players jettisoned. Could be a case of the team wanting to do right by the player to give him as much lead time as possible to line up a job with another team.
UPDATE II (12:53 p.m. CDT): Mark Berman has a few more names.
#Texans cut OLB Jason Ankrah, WR Jace Davis, NT Chris Neild, DE Cam McLeod, WR Travis Labhart, OT Bryan Witzman, NT Cody White (more)

More #Texans cuts: OT Aaron Adams, WR Alan Bonner,

By my count, if we include Stevie Brown, that's ten (10) players cut and one moved to injured reserve. I'm a bit shocked that Adams and Bonner didn't even survive the first cut, though Adams' fate was likely sealed with the acquisition of Chris Clark this morning and I didn't count on Bonner making the 53 regardless.
UPDATE III (4:21 p.m. CDT): With one of the greatest punters of all time continuing to make his case for enshrinement in Canton, this was bound to happen.
#Texans cut punter Will Johnson

Four (4) more players still have to be cut by tomorrow at 3 p.m. CDT.
UPDATE IV (1:40 p.m. CDT on 09/01/15): And this should get the Texans down to 75 players.
Texans waived Jeff Tarpinian, Will Johnson. waived-injured Terrance Parks (hamstring), Anthony Denham (shoulder), David Quessenberry, NFI
