Houston Texans Injury News: DeAndre Hopkins "Looking Pretty Good"

DeAndre Hopkins

Bill O'Brien offered some injury updates today after practice ended.  It sounds more hopeful that DeAndre Hopkins may get through the league's concussion protocol in time for this week's game, as he has not been ruled out just yet!

It would be fantastic if Hopkins is back in time for the tilt against Tampa Bay on Sunday!  But a word of warning from an actual medical doctor:

Coming off microfracture surgery last December, the first overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft has looked VERY good in his first two starts of the 2015 regular season.  Could we see the coaches scheme some new wrinkles for him this week against the Buccaneers?

Ryan Mallett

The head coach offered the following regarding quarterback Ryan Mallett:

Well folks, I'd say things are not as great as we had hoped going into the third week of this season, but the latest news isn't as bad as we would have feared after the Texans started the year 0-2 in two "one-score" games.  Share your thoughts on the latest news.
