Like their 31 NFL brethren, Houston Texans must reduce the size of their roster from 75 to 53 by Saturday, September 5th at 3 p.m. CDT. Reports are starting to trickle out about which players across the league are now looking for work, and now we have the first salvo from NRG Park.

The ongoing list is as follows, with the most recent cuts first.  Tweets sourced after in the order they were reported:

Chandler Worthy, WR

EZ Nwachukwu, WR

James Ferentz, C

Max Bullough, LB

Damaris Johnson, WR

Brandon Deaderick, DE

Kenny Hilliard, RB

Louis Nix III, DT

Matt Feiler, OT

Corey Moore, S

Kourtnei Brown, LB

Tevita Finau, DT

UPDATE II (11:17 a.m. CDT): One of the stars of "Hard Knocks" is no longer a Texan.

UPDATE III (11:36 a.m.): Two more gone, though one could be heading back soon.

UPDATE (11:56 A.M.): In the first major shocker of the day, former third round pick Louis Nix has been released. I guess Christian Covington not only made the roster, but beat out Nix all together for the backup job to Vince Wilfork. Rookie running back Kenny Hilliard has also been let go.

UPDATE (12:05 P.M.): Slot receiver and returner Damaris Johnson has been released. There are still a lot of wideouts left on the team, and only five or six will remain by the end of the day.

UPDATE (12:08 P.M.): Inside linebacker and special teams contributor Max Bullough has now been cut. Backup center/guard James Ferentz is also gone.

UPDATE (12:58 P.M.): Another "Hard Knocks star" is gone, as the Texans have now released WR EZ Nwachukwu.

UPDATE (2:15 P.M.) The Texans have cut WR Chandler Worthy.  His best chance to make the team was to contribute to the return game, and he certainly showed flashes.  Let's see if he hits the practice squad.

We'll update this post as news breaks (like we did for the first round of cuts) and then have a separate entry summarizing all the moves when the deadline passes (again, like we did earlier in the week). In the meantime, let loose with your roster projections and predictions in the space below.
