Tom Savage worked around pressure all night against the Cowboys on Thursday night. Savage took a hit during the fourth quarter and landed on his shoulder, leaving the game shortly after with the trainers. It appears the injury isn't as bad as expected, as the Houston Chronicle's John McClain reports that Savage suffered a severe sprain and will be out 4-6 weeks.
Good news on Savage. Severe sprain no surgery. Out 4 to 6 weeks.

Savage had shown some flashes of promise during the preseason. He posted a 63.33 completion percentage, three touchdowns, and one interception in three preseason appearances.

Savage is behind Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett on the Texans' depth chart. Houston will need to find a replacement for Savage for a quarter of the season.
