2016 Fantasy Football Advice: Divisional Playoffs

Ryan continues to throw money into the wind with Daily Fantasy Football.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Traditional fantasy league over, just like the Houston Texans' season? Fear not.  The fantasy season isn't over. Hope is not lost. You can redeem yourself by winning something in Week 19. Let's run through some DFS picks for the divisional playoffs:

QB: Carson Palmer, ARI $8,900

Palmer is playing at his peak heading to the playoffs. The Cardinals trounced the Packers in their first matchup, 38-8. Palmer was 18-for-27 for 265 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

Nothing has changed on either side, so no reason to expect a different outcome. If the Packers are going to win, they will need to match Palmer's output on offense.

RB: James White, NE, $6,500

The running back position is ever evolving in the NFL. It's a strange place when David Johnson, Jonathan Stewart, and James White are the top options in fantasy. The Patriots never fully go away from the run and White is the team's top pass catching running back.

RB: Jonathan Stewart, CAR, $6,300

Stewart has been the workhorse for the Panthers and nothing will change against the Seahawks. Stewart appears ready to go after missing the final three games of the season.

WR: Julian Edelman, NE, $7,800

Julian Edelman is listed as limited on the Patriots injury report, but he is expected to be back for Saturday's game. In nine games this season with the Patriots, Edelman is averaging just under 10 targets per game.

WR: Doug Baldwin, SEA, $7,400

In his last six games during the regular season, Baldwin has caught 11 touchdown passes. He caught another touchdown pass against Minnesota in the playoffs -- no reason to stop using him now.

WR: Michael Floyd, ARI, $6,500

See Carson Palmer. Palmer has to throw it to someone.

TE: Greg Olsen, CAR, $6,500

Olsen is the Panthers' best passing target through air. And if I'm not picking Gronk, Olsen seems like the next best bet.

K: Mason Crosby, GB, $4,500

The Packers offense showed life against Washington last week. If the Packers can win the game against Arizona, it won't be a low scoring game -- giving Crosby plenty of chances.

DEF: Denver Broncos, $5,300

Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips has the best defense left in the postseason. This week, they face a quarterback that might not be able to throw the ball. I like those odds.
