Open Game Day Thread: Houston Texans v. Jacksonville Jaguars (Part II) - Q3

With dreams of playing at least one more week, the Houston Texans host the Jacksonville Jaguars to complete their regular season today. Talk about what's happening on the field of NRG Stadium in real time via Battle Red Blog's live open game thread for Texans-Jaguars this afternoon.

Second quarter notes:

  • Brian Hoyer to Jonathon Grimes for the TD.  Good guys go up 10-0.
  • John Simon gets bulldozed and misses a sack on back to back plays.  Bernadrick McKinney somehow catches Allen Robinson from behind?  Wow!
  • The Wildbull is no longer working.  Just stop it already.
  • J.J. Watt with the fumble recovery.
  • Xavier Sua'Filo showing better hands than our TEs.
  • Akeem Hunt gives the team explosiveness, and it's a beautiful thing to behold.
  • CJF with another drop.  Where's Sua'Filo when you need him?
  • Grimey with another TD, this time via the ground.
  • Four deflected pass in ten attempts by Blake Bortles as Watt gets another.
  • This game isn't like when we played the BE-SFs.  The Glitter Kitties can drop 14 points quickly with that offense.
  • In that spirit, should I remind everyone today is January 3?
  • Whitney Mercilus with another sack.  He's no Steve Jackson.
  • Mercilus is a completely different player in 2015.
  • Wow, Quentin Demps with a beautiful legal hit on Allen Robinson.
  • Andre Hal with a spectacular interception a play later.  Why are the Texans so much better on defense?  Andre Hal is a good, big reason why.
  • Nick Novak nails the long field goal.  Allowing the catch to set up the field goal was just embarrassing.
  • Your Houston Texans head into halftime up 20-3 on the Glitter Kitties of Jacksonville.
