After missing the regular season finale with a foot injury, Jadeveon Clowney's status for the wild card playoff game against the Chiefs on Saturday afternoon has remained up in the air. Today, three (3) days before the first playoff game of the 2015 NFL postseason, it's still an open question as to whether Clowney will be out there this weekend.

For what it's worth, Aaron Wilson writes that "...Clowney and Washington are considered to have a solid chance of playing in Saturday’s AFC wild-card playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs."  Wilson also notes that Bob McNair (or "Dr. McNair," as Bill O'Brien might say if McNair wasn't the one signing O'Brien's paycheck) has said that Clowney will be on the field come Saturday afternoon.

There's no doubt that having the services of Clowney and Washington makes the Texans a better football team.  Should one or both of them have to miss the game, however, their absence(s) would not be disastrous to the Texans' hopes, particularly in light of the emergence of Whitney Mercilus and Jaelen Strong.  Nevertheless, you can be sure Clowney and Washington desperately want to suit up Saturday to experience the playoffs with their teammates.
