2016 Houston Texans Game Day Live: Texans v. Titans (First Quarter)

New, comments

The Houston Texans host the Tennessee Titans to open up their 2016 divisional schedule this afternoon. Talk about what's happening on the field as it transpires in Battle Red Blog's live open game thread for Texans-Titans.

It's been a rather tumultuous week in Houston. Coming off an abysmal nationally televised performance against the Patriots, we found out that J.J. Watt re-injured his back, necessitating a second surgery that'll keep him out for the rest of the 2016 season. Losing the best football player in the world would seem like sufficient drama for the week, but Bill O'Brien decided it was time for him to take over the offensive playcalling duties, so both sides of the ball will be experiencing significant changes on short notice with the Titans coming to town. Probably not the way you'd draw things up before the Texans' first divisional game of the 2016 campaign, though you can bet the Titans have little sympathy for their AFC South rivals. By the end of the afternoon, the Texans will either be 3-1 (1-0 in the AFC South) or 2-2 (0-1 in the AFC South) at the quarter pole of the season. Time to find out how high or low the Texans' fan base will get today.

This is your first open thread for the first of the Texans' two games against the Tennessee Titans this year. Share your observations, thoughts, and musings about all things Houston, Texan, and/or Titan in real time in the Comments below.
