In what could be a striking blow for the Texans offensive line, Derek Newton was just carted off the field with air casts on both legs. I don’t want to speculate on the injury, but this is horrific news for both the Texans and Newton.
While Newton has at times struggled on the field, he’s possibly been our best offensive lineman this season, a true area of weakness on the team. This is, to put it lightly, a big deal.
UPDATE: It's bad. It's real bad.
This is awful. #Texans RT Derek Newton has torn both patella tendons, @MikeGarafolo & I report, and there is more damage. As bad as can be.
