Texans 14, Lions 3: Third Quarter Live

The third quarter starts now at NRG, with Houston leading Detroit 14-3.

NFL: Detroit Lions at Houston Texans Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Houston takes a 14-3 lead into halftime at NRG Stadium. A last minute interception by Brock Osweiler in the second quarter allowed a late field goal by the Lions. The Texans will get the ball to start the second half and will look to extend their lead. This is your open thread for the third quarter.

Live blogging the second quarter:

  • A handful of decent downs ends in an Osweiler to C.J. Fiedorowicz touchdown!
  • A penalty helps Houston out there.
  • A.J. Bouye continues to impress. Wow.
  • Houston with a nice defensive series, leading to a Lions’ three and out.
  • Do I sense some momentum building here?
  • Tyler Ervin with a nice return.
  • Stephen Anderson, I have always adored you.
  • Ouch, that was an awful hit on Fiedorowicz.
  • And Jaelen Strong is down. This is ugly.
  • Yes. Yes. More Anderson!
  • DeAndre Hopkins hands will never cease to amaze me. WOW.
  • Lamar Miller just barely gets it in for the score (and my fantasy team thanks him).
  • Nice pressure by the Texans there.
  • Hopkins isn’t even real. He’s been more involved today. Gotta love it.
  • Fiedorowicz is back! Glad he’s alright.
  • Jadeveon Clowney, still a monster.
  • Nice defensive series for Houston again.
  • Wow, Fiedorowicz is having himself a game.
  • I will continue to be annoyed at Will Fuller for things like that. Ugh.
  • There’s the Osweiler INT. Damn.
  • And a Lions’ field goal to end the half.
