Many NFL observers believe the Houston Texans are frauds, based in large part on the team's wretched performance against the Patriots on the road two weeks ago. The Texans can go a long way toward forcing a reassessment of that opinion by showing up and playing well on the road against the undefeated Minnesota Vikings this afternoon. Of course, things could go the other way--the Texans could lay another egg against a team that looks like a legitimate contender, which would only cement the belief that the Texans are paper tigers, mere beneficiaries of playing in a terrible division.
There's a ton of football still to be played this year, but the Texans' performance today should give us a clearer idea of who they are and where they could go. Let's see what happens.
