Thank You, Veterans

Today, we celebrate our nation's veterans.  Battle Red Blog takes a moment to express our appreciation.

Today is Veterans Day. Each year, I reference the following passage, purely because Woodrow Wilson, the President who was in office the day that Veterans Day was officially recognized, puts things infinitely more eloquently than I could ever hope to.

"To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…"

To all those who are reading this who are serving or have served our country, Texans fan or not, please know how thankful we are for what you have done and/or continue to do. To all of those reading this who have had a loved one serve, please accept our humble appreciation for the sacrifices you made as well. No matter what, this is still the greatest country in the world, and it wouldn’t be without the brave souls who signed up to serve in our military. Thank you.
