With the flurry of roster moves made on the eve of last Sunday’s game against the Jaguars, your Houston Texans found themselves with an open practice squad spot. They filled that vacancy last night with a familiar face.
#Texans sign RB Kenny Hilliard to the practice squad— Mark Berman (@MarkBermanFox26) November 15, 2016
Hilliard, of course, was selected in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Texans. He spent last year on the practice squad and had an impressive 2016 preseason before getting cut when the team whittled its roster down to 53 players. It was widely assumed Hilliard would be signed back to Houston’s practice squad, but the team opted to use that opening for Akeem Hunt instead. Now that Hunt’s been promoted to the 53-man roster, Hilliard has returned to Houston to take Hunt’s place on the practice squad.
