Countdown To Monday Night Football: Texans-Raiders

Buenos tardes, Texans fans. We’re here awaiting the start of the game against the Raiders in Mexico City. Join in.

Pressuring Carr? I’d like to see some of that tonight.

#SomosTexans? Yup. We are. Tonight the NFL makes history as the first game aired in Mexico since 2005 kicks off between our Texans and the Oakland Raiders. This should be a good evening for us all as we swap out our usual barbecue, Tex-Mex, and Battle Red Kool-Aid for authentic Mexican food and cervezas.

Tonight we get to see what Jack Del Rio has been doing with one of the most historic franchises in the league. Some of us can look, longingly, at Derek Carr and/or Khalil Mack and wonder what could have been. Others will point to our standing in the AFC South and what we’ve seen out of Jadeveon Clowney, Xavier Su’a-Filo, and Brock Osweiler and rejoice in the decisions that were made in the 2014 NFL Draft.

If this game gets out of hand early, expect to hear lots of narrative about what the Texans should have done in that draft. Actually, since this game appears on BSPN, expect to hear lots of narrative about that anyways. Narrative sells.

What are y’all expecting to see tonight? Does the altitude concern you? Hang out here, where you can ponder and pontificate on the state of the Texans until the first quarter thread opens up at 7:15 p.m. CST.
