Thursday Night Football Live: Atlanta Falcons vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This week’s Thursday Night Football pits the Falcons against the Bucs in a NFC South clash. The NFC South is in a bit of flux compared to what happened last season. The team that coasted to the divisional championship in 2015 is now lying at the bottom of the division, and the Falcons offense (imbued with the magical qualities of the Baby Shanahan playbook) have propelled themselves to the top of the division.

The Bucs are tied for the second spot in the NFC South with the Saints at 3-4. Tampa Bay still has a ways to go in terms of the team’s development, as both the offense and defense rank below average in offensive and defensive DVOA. Jameis Winston has had a tough sophomore campaign showing, which hasn’t helped the development and rebuilding process in Tampa. That being said, it will be an interesting to watch how rookie corner Vernon Hargreaves III deals with having to go up against Julio Jones.
