Osweiler was benched in the second quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Backup quarterback Tom Savage entered the game to cheers from the Houston faithful.

Osweiler threw interceptions on back-to-back drives, forcing a pass over the middle of the field with linebacker Telvin Smith standing in the passing lane on the second one. He was 6-of-11 for 48 yards and two interceptions in five drives against Jacksonville.
The Texans’ big offseason signee has thrown multiple interceptions in four games and has 16 interceptions overall in his first season in Houston.
Entering Sunday’s game, Osweiler had passed for 2,656 yards and 14 touchdowns against 14 interceptions. He had completed 59.7 percent of his passes.
The Texans now have a quarterback under center making $300,584.00 compared to $37 million guaranteed.
Savage led the Texans to a field goal just before the half, cutting the Jaguars’ lead to 13-5.
