Pressed into duty yesterday when Johnathan Joseph left the game due to injury, Charles James had a rough afternoon in the Texans' loss to Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers immediately picked on him, as many QBs have when James lines up at cornerback, with things culminating in James giving up a bad touchdown to Jordy Nelson. Today, the Texans decided they no longer required James' services.
#Texans waived CB Charles James.

Texans waived CB Charles James. He slipped and gave up TD pass to Jordy Nelson in Sunday's loss to Green Bay.

For his part, James seemed to imply that his failure to contain Nelson played a role in the team's decision, as he apologized that he "...couldn't be better in the most precious moments."
My time in Houston is up I gave y'all everything I had. All I have is good memories about this… https://t.co/JcRq18ZjEq

Best of luck to James as he looks to continue his NFL career. Although he's struggled at CB, James is stout as a special teams gunner, which could mean he finds work elsewhere. You never know--the Texans could bring him back down the line; they've done it before.
UPDATE: The team has already moved to fill James' vacated roster spot.
So the Texans waived CB Charles James and replaced him with Al-Hajj Shabazz, claimed on waivers from the Steelers.

To bring things full circle, Shabazz was available because the Steelers cut him to sign...wait for it...Randy Bullock.
UPDATE (12/13/16): James has found work with very team the Texans most recently bested.
We have signed CB Charles James. https://t.co/ROGRTULvyV
