If you're like me, you're asking WTF is an "edge" defender? Well, they exist so check them out and see who could be had in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Some of us learned NFL positions before "edge rusher" was a "thing," so we're kind of fuzzy on why there's this need to create a new category, but you can read a bit about edge rushers on the Eagles website.

Draft Breakdown characterizes Joey Bosa, Shilique Calhoun, Baylor's Shawn Oakman, Wisconsin's Joe Schobert as edge defenders, even though their college teams would list them under a position group. The edge group requires a bit of research by mock drafters.  Schobert played linebacker for the Badgers, while Oakman played defensive end in Waco, as did Bosa in Columbus and Calhoun in East Lansing. Other edge defenders that made Draft Breakdown's prospects list include Silverberry Mouhon from the Cincinnati Bearcats, and Red Raider Pete Robertson.

NOTE: Because CBS and Draft Breakdown characterize players differently, there will be a total of seven posts about defensive linemen and linebackers.

How do you think we should address the edge position? Do you even believe in the need to create an "edge position" separate from defensive ends and linebackers? Discuss the position and the prospects below.
