The Texans' J.J. Watt is nominated for Defensive Player of the Year. If Watt wins, it ties him with Lawrence Taylor as the only three-time winners of the annual award given to the NFL's outstanding defender. Everyone here at BRB clearly believes Watt is the best defender in the NFL, but  unfortunately, they don't let us vote.

Recently there's been talk of Watt-fatigue that may harm his chances to win a third DPOY award. There has also been some discussion about the rise of the RamsAaron Donald, the dependability of Luke Kuechly, and the work that Josh Norman has done for the Panthers (the CardinalsTyrann Mathieu was a potential DPOY candidate until he suffered his season-ending injury).

DPOY isn't the only award being handed out tonight. The MVP, OPOY, DROY, OROY, Coach of the Year, Assistant Coach of the Year, and Comeback Player of the Year (plus DPOY) are voted on by a team of 50 media members and presented by the Associated Press, which published an article that explains how the awards are decided.

Other awards, including the prestigious Walter Payton Man of the Year, are selected differently. Additionally, the 2016 Hall of Fame induction class will also be announced tonight.

This is your open thread, where you'll critique outfits and hairstyles, as well as award winners and losers for the rest of the evening. Enjoy!
