In much the same fashion as they did with J.J. Watt two years ago, your Houston Texans have utilized the fifth-year option afforded to them by DeAndre Hopkins' rookie contract.
Texans exercised 5th year option (2017) on WR DeAndre Hopkins. He'll make $7.915 mil. They can sign him to long term deal anytime before.

That means Nuk is assured of playing in Houston through the 2017 season. Of course, there's very little chance of the team not keeping him around for years after that, as the best is still yet to come for a player who's already established himself as one of the best in the NFL.
Option or not, I expect the team and Hopkins to come to terms on a contract extension sometime before the 2016 regular season starts. He's not going anywhere.
