Ladies and gentlemen, our long national nightmare is over. Brian Hoyer has finally been released by the Houston Texans.
The #Texans have released QB Brian Hoyer, source said. He's a free agent

Just in case you needed a reminder about why Hoyer needed to be so urgently replaced by Brock Osweiler after less than one full season of starts under his belt, feel free to check out his abominable lowlights against the Chiefs in the Wild Card round last season. I promise that they are still just as awful as you remember. That person who is clearly posing as an NFL quarterback will never wear a Texans uniform again, and for that we are eternally thankful.
How about we all take a moment and celebrate this occasion by remembering one of the few Hoyer-related plays that still makes me smile - his obliteration at the hands of Brian Cushing.
I will not miss you as a player, Mr. Hoyer. You are a nice dude and a good teammate, but I personally wish to never see you throw another pass for this franchise again. May you find success somewhere as a backup far, far away from Houston.
