Mike Mayock is notorious among those that follow the NFL Draft for putting out a single mock the day or two before the first round gets underway. This year is no different, as his sole mocking of the 2016 NFL Draft was published tonight, approximately 24 hours before the Los Angeles Rams officially go on the clock.
Given Mayock's insistence on waiting until the proverbial last minute, you might expect him to have some insight or information that you haven't seen anywhere else. At least as it pertains to your Houston Texans, that expectation would be misguided, as Mayock has projected a player to Houston that the overwhelming majority of draftniks have been preaching as the next Texan for months now.
22. Houston Texans: Corey Coleman (WR--Baylor)
Coleman is an explosive wide receiver. If you can manufacture touches, he'll manufacture points.
I'm trying to recall the last time, not counting the occasions when they had the first overall pick, that there was such a universal belief that the Texans would take a particular player. Perhaps Brian Cushing back in 2009?
With so many people predicting Corey Coleman will become a Texan tomorrow night, how surprised will you be if Coleman is available and the Texans choose to select someone else?
