Today, many members of the BRB community get a day off from work in order to observe Memorial Day. It's not enough to simply thank those (and their families) who paid the highest price to ensure our great nation remained great. Still, I'm going to try to express appropriate gratitude.
To those of you who have had a friend or family member fall in service of our nation, thank you for all that you and they have done.
To those of you who are currently serving our nation, or are dealing with the hardships of that service as a loved one serves, thank you.
You brave souls are why Houston Texans fans can come to this corner of the internet to talk about our favorite team or almost whatever else is on our mind. You are why there is a United States of America. Words, no matter how heartfelt, cannot adequately capture the appreciation we have for you and yours.
Despite that innate shortcoming, from all of us here at BRB, to all of those to whom the preceding words apply, please accept this totally insufficient gesture of appreciation. Happy Memorial Day. Thank you.
