The Texans have signed two of their six total draft picks today. I guess we can now officially welcome K.J. Dillon and D.J. Reader to the City of Houston.

Texans signed NT DJ Reader, their other fifth round pick. KJ Dillon signed earlier.

Dillon and Reader are both expected to be depth and/or special teams contributors as they start their careers, but there is a good chance that they could see the field in a bigger capacity by 2017 as Vince Wilfork’s career winds down and Dillon gets more snaps as a dime safety. For the time being, however, the only thing on their minds will be rookie minicamps starting this weekend.
UPDATE: Mark Berman reports the Texans have now also signed fourth-round pick RB Tyler Ervin out of San Jose State.
