It was only last week when the Houston Texans signed Alex Carrington, but the veteran defensive end has already been waived with an injury designation.
Texans waived-injured Alex Carrington, terminating his contract

Carrington didn't make an appearance in the Texans' 16-9 win over the New Orleans Saints on Saturday and clearly he was unable to overcome his injury as Bill O'Brien and Co. have already decided it's time to move on.
That leaves Christian Covington, Jeoffrey Pagan, Devon Still, Dan Pettinato, Joel Heath and Ufomba Kamalu as the defensive ends on the current roster, with J.J. Watt still on the PUP list.
There is no indication as to who will take Carrington's spot on the roster, but there's little doubt in my mind it will be filled swiftly to bring the roster back up to its full compliment of 90 players before Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, though I suppose the Texans could look at this move as a prelude to next week's first round of cuts.
What are your thoughts on this and any potential replacements?
