2016 NFL Preseason Live: Houston Texans v. Arizona Cardinals

New, comments

The Houston Texans host the Arizona Cardinals in the most regular season of preseason games in a nationally televised contest. Talk about what's happening on the field as it transpires in Battle Red Blog's live open game thread for Texans-Cardinals.

The third preseason game for each NFL team is traditionally the closest thing you'll see to a regular season NFL contest. Starters play more than a few series and there's usually some semblance of a game plan. That's not to say the teams necessarily give great weight to the final score, but the third exhibition game isn't as devoid of meaning as its three siblings.

Thus, this afternoon at NRG Stadium, you'll see your Houston Texans, at least for a half or so, in a reasonable facsimile of what they'll look like when the Bears come to town in two weeks. Perhaps right down to an skeleton crew offensive line and a defense that's missing J.J. Watt!

This is your first open thread for the Texans' 2016 preseason tilt against the Arizona Cardinals. Share your observations, thoughts, and musings about all things Houston, Texan, and/or Cardinal in real time in the Comments below.
