This is it, y’all. This is what a championship Houston Texans roster looks like. Alright, so I’m getting slightly ahead of myself. But the Texans have made the majority of their cuts toward the final 53-man roster, and we are only nine days away from real, honest-to-goodness, regular season Houston football! This is how the final roster is shaping up:

There are now 53 players on the Texans roster as of this posting (Brandon Dunn, Akeem Hunt and Cecil Shorts III were cut Saturday morning). As we attempt to predict the final few moves, here are a few of the players most likely to end their careers with the Texans.
Running back will probably see another departure (after Kenny Hilliard was released Friday). L. Miller has the obvious start, but Ervin, Grimes, and Hunt are all still on the roster. Ervin seems safe, but the other three all have reasons to be on the chopping block.
Wide receiver is an overloaded position as well. Behind Hopkins, Strong, Fuller, and B. Miller are Mumphery and Shorts III, one of whom will likely be cut by tomorrow. Quenton Bundradge and Wendall Williams are gone as of this afternoon.
Other players with potential to be cut include Scarlett and Dent. Still and Heath may be fighting for a single job. Bergstrom could go if Houston wants to take a chance on one of the centers who was released this week. The remainder of the final decisions will come down in the next 24 hours, and you can find a continually-updated list of Texans cuts here.
Oh, and in case any of you were worried, my favorite TE (the guy who is always open), Stephen Anderson made the roster. This is what he had to say on his Instagram about making the final 53:
What do you think of the final(ish) roster, Texans fans? There’s a lot to be excited about in Houston this season, so let us know your thoughts and predictions in the comments section below. We only have one week left before football really gets going!
