Houston Texans Injury News: Duane Brown Could Return In Week Five

The Texans have been missing their starting left tackle all season, and today we got a better idea of when Houston can expect him back on the field.

The last bit of information we had about Duane Brown’s status was when the team took him off the PUP List a week before the regular season started. Given the NFL's PUP rules, that necessarily meant the Texans were optimistic Brown would be back on the field before Week Six.

Today, Bill O’Brien expressed measured confidence that he could get his starting left tackle back when the Texans face the Vikings in Week Five:

"I think he’s closer," head coach Bill O’Brien said of Brown’s return. "I don’t think he will play against Tennessee, but I know that there’s a shot for the next game."

The Texans’ offensive line hasn’t exactly been lighting the world on fire in Brown’s absence, so it’ll be a big boost when he does return. Of course, the question remains how he’ll look after suffering such a debilitating injury less than a year ago, but there’s only one way to find out.
