With J.J. Watt's return to the practice field yesterday, the focus naturally shifted to whether that meant Watt would play when the Texans open up their regular season against the Chicago Bears on Sunday at NRG Stadium. The head coach of your Houston Texans has now answered that question.
"I would say that he will play," O'Brien said. "Beyond that, I won’t be able to answer much."
Of course, now the question becomes how much J.J. will play against Jay Cutler & Co.
Two people with #Texans say definitively that @JJWatt will play Week 1 after back surgery. Number of snaps and role to be determined

Come kickoff on Sunday afternoon, Watt will be a little more than seven (7) weeks removed from back surgery. Even for a specimen like Watt, asking him to be full-go right now seems excessive. How many snaps do you expect to see from the best player in the NFL in the Texans' opener on Sunday?
