In terms of making the playoffs, this game means nothing to the Texans. That fact might explain why Bill O’Brien had already made the call to sit four guys today.

Jadeveon Clowney (elbow, wrist) has been battling injuries for a minute now, and this might finally be a chance to let him rest and hopefully heal before we really need his services. Lamar Miller (ankle) missed last week as well and we need him fully healthy for our playoff run, so he’ll be sitting today’s game out. Jay Prosch (ankle, knee) has been on the injury report for various ailments throughout the season, but we need him healthy for the playoffs so he can open holes for Miller. John Simon (chest) has been out over a month.

Johnathan Joseph (ribs, shoulder) is questionable for the game. The ribs have been an issue for a few weeks, but the shoulder just cropped up this week. Brian Cushing (ankle) is also questionable with an ankle injury that isn’t new. We saw Nick Novak (oblique) play through injury last week and he should do the same this week. Clowney, Joseph, Miller, Prosch, and Simon failed to participate in Friday’s practice. Cushing and Kareem Jackson (neck) were limited in participation Friday, but Jackson is expected to start.

Jeff Allen (not injury related), Quintin Demps (Achilles), C.J. Fiedorowicz (thigh), Benardrick McKinney (wrist), and Tom Savage (knee), all participated fully in Friday’s practice and should play today.

Once Marcus Mariota went down with a broken leg, this game meant nothing to the Titans. Even so, 46 men will suit up to play for their team.

Only Beau Brinkley (illness) was held out of practice Friday, but he should play. Jason McCourty (chest) is questionable and was limited Friday. Jace Amaro (quad), LeShaun Sims (concussion), D’Joun Smith (illness) and Sean Spence (illness) were full participants in Friday’s practice and should be good to go.

Houston Texans Inactives:

  • DE Jadeveon Clowney (elbow, wrist)
  • ILB Brian Cushing (ankle)
  • CB Johnathan Joseph (ribs, shoulder)
  • RB Lamar Miller (ankle)
  • FB Jay Prosch (ankle, knee)
  • OLB John Simon (chest)
  • QB Brandon Weeden (coach’s indifference)

Tennessee Titans Inactives:

  • TE Jace Amaro (quad)
  • OLB David Bass (coach’s indifference)
  • DE Angelo Blackson (coach’s indifference)
  • CB Jason McCourty (chest)
  • CB Curtis Riley (coach’s indifference)
  • OG Sebastian Tretola (coach’s indifference)
  • WR Kendall Wright (coach’s indifference)

How do you expect our offense and defense to perform missing these major players? Do you expect that we’ll see more of the backups or will O’Brien go through the entire game with his starters in an effort to not sh.t the bed in the playoffs?
