While Texans fans await word from Bill O’Brien about whether Tom Savage or Brock Osweiler will be under center for the wild card playoff game at NRG Stadium on Saturday afternoon, word out of Oakland is that the Raiders are preparing for rookie Connor Cook to make his first ever NFL start.
#Raiders are going forward with the expectation that QB Connor Cook starts vs. #Texans, sources say. Matt McGloin not believed to be ready.

It remains to be seen who’ll start at QB for the Texans, though Tom Savage’s participation in the concussion protocol does seem to make it rather unlikely he’ll get sufficient snaps in practice to be prepared even if he is cleared to play by Saturday. At the very least, Ian Rapoport is reporting Osweiler is probably the man for the Texans on Saturday.
In a playoff matchup everyone saw coming, it’s likely QB Connor Cook & the #Raiders vs. QB Brock Osweiler and the #Texans.
