Quietly, ever so quietly, the Texans have gotten tremendous production out of a veteran defensive back they re-signed after the initial rush of free agency last year. Today, that player was named Defensive Player of the Month for the AFC.
Quintin Demps voted AFC Defensive Player of the Month for December.

Did you know that Quintin Demps is tied for second in the NFL for interceptions with six? Did you know he’s got the most picks of any safety in the league?
In terms of why Demps won this award for his play in December, it might have something to do with the fact that he had interceptions in three of the four games the Texans played last month. Furthermore, Demps enters the playoffs with a streak of four consecutive games in which he’s picked off the opposing quarterback.
Huge congratulations to Quintin “Don’t Call Me Will” Demps. He deserves it.
