The defense of your Houston Texans took two sizable punches to the gut on Sunday night when it lost the services of both Whitney Mercilus and J.J. Watt for the rest of the 2017 season. As the Texans must now scramble to address the gigantic voids along their defensive line and linebacking corps, the first such attempt—at least the first such attempt that we know about, anyway—to find answers outside the current roster has been made.
The #Texans are flying former #Bears pass-rusher Lamarr Houston in for a visit tomorrow, source said. He could fill Whitney Mercilus’ role.

The Texas Ex visited Tampa Bay yesterday and only played two games for the Bears last season before the team released him. The fact that he’s unsigned in Week Six speaks volumes, but the Texans are desperate and Lamarr Houston was productive as recently as 2015. What say you, BRB?
UPDATE: Not that signing one would necessarily preclude signing the other, but the Texans are hosting another defensive lineman for a workout today.
