2017 NFL Power Rankings (Week 6): The Higher The Climb, The Harder The Fall

New, comments

After two season-ending injuries and a rough loss on Sunday night, where do the Texans fall in the power rankings this week?

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs at Houston Texans Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports

As Texans fans sadly know all too well, Houston didn’t just lose to the Chiefs on Sunday night. The Texans also lost two of their best players for the rest of the season, as Whitney Mercilus went down with a torn pectoral and J.J. Watt suffered a fractured tibia. In light of that triple whammy, it’s no surprise that a team everyone loved last week is now not nearly as beloved.

CBS Sports: 22, down 9 spots.

ESPN: 17, down 7 spots.

NFL.com (Elliot Harrison): 16, down 3 spots.

Sports Illustrated: 18, down 9 spots.

Yahoo (Frank Schwab): 15, down 2 spots.

Bleacher Report (Chris Simms): 15, down 1 spot.

The Texans have taken a tumble, and a large one at that, but it still looks like many view them as a team in the middle of the pack. Which ranking, if any, do you agree with?
