Houston Texans Lose Deshaun Watson, Sign Matt McGloin

Whatever.

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Just when you thought life was pretty good. The leaves are orange and red. The Astros won a World Series. HEY. This being alive thing, you know what, it ain’t so bad? Ahhh there she is. The chariots pulling the heart strings and the soul upwards have plummeted have crashed into calamity. Deshaun Watson tore his ACL. He’s out for the season. The 2017 Texans are done.

But wait! There’s more. The Texans needed to sign a quarterback to backup Tom Savage, who is going to hold the ball and get sacked nine times this Sunday by an impotent pass rush. So they brought in Matt McGloin. The former Penn State Bill O’Brien project, the former Oakland Raider who beat Matt Schaub and the Texans in 2013 that led to Schaub and Andre Johnson fighting on the sideline, the former Philadelphia Eagle was cut this offseason, will be backing up Tom Savage.

Camus was right. There’s no point to any of this or anything. That doesn’t mean it isn’t awful, and terrible. The Texans will try to ride out the rest of the season with Tom Savage and Matt McGloin at quareterback.
