What Should Texans Fans Be Thankful For?

Hint: It rhymes with Weshaun Datson.

Thankful for this dude.

This week’s sponsored post timely asks what fans of each NFL team are thankful for. I’m going to narrow the focus a bit and ask you, fellow Texans fan, what thing(s) directly tied to the Texans you’re thankful for.

Prior to 2017, the first thing out of the mouths of the majority of Houston fans would have been “J.J. Watt.” With good reason. In fact, that may still be your answer, particularly with the amazing work Watt did and continues to do for our fair city in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

Or perhaps your answer this year, notwithstanding the season-ending injury that robbed us of what was shaping up to be a truly historic rookie campaign, is Deshaun Watson. I can’t argue with that. After years of frantic searching for a legitimate franchise quarterback, all signs indicate that the Texans—and by extension us, their fans—have found their guy for the next decade-plus.

For all the flack he gets, maybe you’re most thankful for the job Bill O’Brien has done during his time in Houston. The man has won division titles with Brian Hoyer and Brock Osweiler as his primary starting quarterbacks, for crying out loud. Add in how dynamic the Texans’ offense became with the insertion of DW4 into the starting lineup and you’d be well within your rights to give thanks for OB.

With that, I turn it over to you. What are you most thankful for as a fan of the Houston Texans?
