Street Clothes Special: Colts at Texans

Two teams whose franchise quarterback are injured does not make for a high scoring game

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs at Houston Texans
Texans Injury List is piling up. It does not look good for the defense as so many starters and contributors are out.

The marketability of this game flew out the window when Texan’s QB Deshaun Watson injured his knee in practice and the Colt’s deemed QB Andrew Luck out for the season.

The Texans’ injuries this season have derailed hopes for a playoff run. Losing J.J. Watt (knee) and Whitney Mercilus (chest) are the biggest injuries. Christian Covington is the newest member of the IR with a bicep tear. He will be missed up front for his depth and run defense. It will put more pressure on Clemson products D.J. Reader and Carlos Watkins to perform in his absence. TE C.J. Fiedorowicz (concussion) has been reported to return next week against the Los Angeles Rams. Undrafted rookie ILB Dylan Cole (hamstring) will be out as well as Joel Heath (knee)

The Colts are on a similar playing field with the amount of injuries accumulated. Ex-Texan John Simon (neck stinger) will be out again this week. Good news for the Texans is that one of the best player on the Colts’ defense, Vontae Davis, is out with a non-injury related issue. Rookie CB Quincy Wilson (Knee) will be out as well making the Colt’s 1st and 2nd round draft picks inactive for the game. RB Matt Jones (Ankle) is also out for the game. Clayton Geathers is on the PUP list for a neck injury. Starting LT Anthony Castanzo is questionable and has missed two practices leading up to the game.
