Oh, how the mighty are falling. The Houston Texans enter this game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at a poor 4-9 (compared to the Jags’ 9-4 record) and on their third starting quarterback of the season. This isn’t how we thought our season would turn out, even after Tom Savage was declared the starting quarterback back in training camp.
T.J. Yates has risen from the ashes to yet again to start for this team, and we remember his glory days and the memories he’s given us. Blake Bortles leads a team that has a serious chance of making the playoffs (whether Bortles deserves any credit at all for his team’s performance remains debatable). The Texans, meanwhile, are just playing out the string, hoping to avoid even more injuries as the season winds to a merciful close.
We’re still here because we’re fans of the Texans. We have endured far worse seasons than this. This is where you can discuss the game before the game. Chill here until the first quarter thread opens at 11:45 a.m. CST.
